Greenhouse Tolstraat
Greenhouse created a coffeeshop with a smart environment and some top-notch varieties, and then launched an assault on the Cannabis Cup, which they have been dominating for years.
It could be said that the Greenhouse invented the modern connoisseur-tourist coffee shop. By creating a smart environment and stocking some top-notch varieties, they first established a good reputation with the locals. Next they launched an assault on the Cannabis Cup. Every year buses are chartered to get the judges to this out-of-town location and they have managed to dominate the competition since 1993.
The original Greenhouse, Greenhouse Tolstraat, is located in the Old South. It's a fair sized place selling alcohol and high-grade grass.

In recent years they've expanded by opening two more coffeeshops and a seed company:
Greenhouse Namaste: "Namaste" is a greeting in Nepal and India. This is the smallest of the three Greenhouses located in the Eastern Canals area.
At the rear of the shop is a small lounge area with nice settees, blue walls, gold pillars, a rock feature and a wooden floor. Alcohol is available. At the front is a small cannabis counter. To get from the front section to the lounge one must pass through a turnstile. Entry is at the discretion of the staff. Apparently they've had some trouble in the past.

The latest Greenhouse, Greenhouse Centrum, is very smart. Probably the best grass in this busy area between Dam square and the Red Light District. Alcohol available. Not cheap though.Address: Oudezijds Voorburgwal 191
